Jansons Institute of Technology organized a social cause activity named “Bhandham”, a one-day visit to orphanage home “Universal Peace Foundation” located at Nallagoundan Palayam, Pathuvampalli, Karumathampatti by Team-CSE and ECE and to Tirupur School for Deaf, Tirupur by Team-Civil, EEE and Mechanical on October 13, 2019.
Universal Peace Foundation is an orphanage home where about 165 destitute children, 64 aged persons, 26 physically challenged & 48 mentally retarded persons reside. As part of the 1st visit, a total of 76 students volunteered to serve the people at home. The program included Dance, Motivational speech, Skit, Mimic, Art performance etc. Everyone in the home loved and enjoyed all the programs conducted by our students.
After the students’ performances, Sri Guruji Shivathma, guiding spirit and torch-bearer of the Foundation addressed our students and gave an inspiring speech on desire and love.
As part of Bhandham, a visit to Tirupur School for Deaf was organized on October 13, 2019. 18 students and 6 faculty members took part in the visit. The team met around 20 kids in the school and their activities and nature of learning were explained by Ms. Selvi, the Headmistress of the school.
The team then went to the Tirupur School for Deaf at Kodhapalayam (Branch School). Mr. Kutty, the Headmaster explained and conducted various activities for the students which were well observed by our students and faculty members. There was active interaction with the school students and a group photo was taken at the end.
The main objective of these activities is to make the students understand how fortunate they are among other members in the society and also to inculcate the culture of respect and care for them.
