Cyber Security for Web Applications and Embedded Systems


A One day National Level Seminar on Cyber Security for Web Applications and Embedded Systems was conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with Intellectual Property Rights(IPR) cell on 8th January 2020 at Sivaganga Auditorium. The seminar was inaugurated at 9.45am by welcoming the participants and the Chief Guest Dr. T. Gireeshkumar, Associate Professor, TIFAC Core in Cyber Security, Amritha Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. The seminar was planned to enhance the knowledge of security issues in web applications and embedded systems for the Students, Research Scholar and Faculty Members of various colleges.

The session started with the need for cyber security and its features.  Later the different type of attacks that exists in web for the applications and how to code for securing from those attacks were also discussed. The interactive session amidst the resource person and the participants made the session lively. The speaker also enriched the participants’ knowledge by explaining how IoT is effectively used in embedded systems. He also shared a real time system about SCADA used for pipeline monitoring and control, water treatment centers and distribution, and electrical power transmission and distribution.

192 external participants (Students/Faculty/Research Scholars) had an effective knowledge sharing session.  The valediction ceremony was concluded by thanking and distributing the certificates to the participants.

The session ended with very positive feedback from the participants’ who in the feedback session expressed their sincere thanks for organizing an effective knowledge sharing event .
