About
Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in schools and colleges through which, educate the youth with correct, concise and adequate information and heighten their level of awareness about HIV/AIDS/STI/sexuality and other related issues (thus eliminate myths and misconceptions). It helps to encouraging charity mind among all the students to extend their possible help towards developing healthy life styles, donating blood to all the needy by promotion of Regular voluntary blood donation.
Objectives of Red Ribbon Club
- To reduce new HIV infection among youth by raising their risk perception through awareness of Sex, Sexuality and HIV & AIDS.
- To induce among youth the spirit to help and support people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) thereby reducing stigma and discrimination against PLWHAs.
- To motivate youth and build their capacity as peer educators and change agents by developing their skill on Leadership, negotiation and team building.
- To promote voluntary non-remunerated blood donation among youth.
