“E~GRAPHIÉ 2K24 – An Interdepartmental Technical Contest”
E-Graphié 2K24 : An inter-department technical contest in the Engineering Graphics (EG) course was conducted for the first year students of 2023 – 2027 batch on 07.05.2024 (Tuesday) and the Contest was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with BIS Standards Club & ISTE Student Chapter. The main objective of the contest is to enrich the young minds in the EG course with its standards and to evolve from the basic concepts taught in the regular classes. The registration form along with the Guidelines about the contest was shared to all the first year students and a total of 58 teams actively registered and participated in the Prelims; Prelims (MCQ Quiz) consist of 20 multiple choice questions from the Basic Concepts in SP46:2003 and it was conducted in the online mode on May 06, 2024. Among them, 32 teams qualified for the final contest, the final contest comprises of three dynamic events; EG Marathon, Standards Drafting and Science via Standards. In the EG Marathon was focused on the topics “Lines, Planes & Solids”. The participants were evaluated by correct answers, model formation, Accuracy & Precision of model and Presentation. In the Standards Drafting event, the participants were identified a Non-Standard component and formulate the details as per the Template. And in the “Learning Science via Standards” participants understand the practical applications of scientific concepts, principles, and laws. This event aims to bridge the gap between science theory and real-life use, and to promote a culture of quality and standardization in India. Participants were evaluated based on the Template shared to them. Based on the performance in each event, the best performing teams were selected and honoured with appreciation certificates. Participation E-certificates were shared to all the active members of the technical contest. Feedback link was shared to the participants, Participants felt this contest was interesting and increased the skill & knowledge level in Engineering Graphics and its standards.
