To create awareness about incubators around the Coimbatore region and their support for students and faculties to develop innovation and entrepreneurship eco system.

Event Summary

 The Institution Innovation’s Council of Jansons Institute of Technology arranged a seminar on “Role of Incubators in Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship Ecosystem of Higher Education Institutions” for the faculty members. The seminar was conducted on 02.7.2022 between 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The first session was handled by Dr.P.Gowtham, Vice President/JIT-IIC. He explained about the various incubators in Coimbatore, their thrust areas, and support for entrepreneurship development. He also explained about the idea evaluation and the team formulation procedures for the start-ups to get support from the incubators. He further explained the importance of supplementary and complementary skill sets required in the team members to run successful enterprises.The second session was handled by Dr.M.M.Matheswaran, President of JIT-IIC. He explained about the Start-up life cycle and funding opportunities at each stage. The various funding schemes available at NIDHI MiETY and BIRAC and their eligibility criteria are explained to the participants. He also shared the case studies of success stories of entrepreneurs who got support from the incubators and successfully formulated their enterprises.

The participants were enriched with the role of incubators in innovation development and start-up funding.
