Thulir – Workshop on “Prototype Modelling”
To nurture the young minds to appreciate complex problems and to think of innovative solutions either to alleviate prevalent problems, a workshop on Prototype Modelling was organised by the Indian Institute of Production Engineers on March 17, 2023 to the students of Mechanical Engineering. The workshop aimed to showcase the talents would help the students to exhibit their skills towards projection of their ideas with possible solution. Dr.S.Elangovan, NISP Coordinator, Dr.M.M.Matheswaran, IIC President acted as an Expect Member (Jury) for evaluating the student’s projects. The workshop was started with the welcome address delivered by Mr.F.Alexander, IIPE Faculty Coordinator followed by the Keynote Address of the Expect Members.Their keynote address focuses on Need of the Innovative Product, Conversion of Proof-of Concept (PoC) into Prototype and How to Pitch the ideas into Product. A total of 10 teams (22 members) were actively participated and their projects were evaluated based on Problem – Solution Fit, Quality Features and Uniqueness of the Solution/Innovation, Achieving Fit: Product – Market Fit (TRL+MRL), Feasibility of the Solution / Innovation and Applicability of the Solution. Suggestions and Additional features to be focused in the Project were shared to all the presented teams. The session was finally ended with the Vote of Thanks. The participants shared the feedback about the workshop which improving the technical skills for their career growth.
