Engineering Graphics Contest
An intra-department technical contest “E-Graphie 2K19” in the field of Engineering Graphics was conducted on 19.10.2019 (Saturday) for all the department of First year B.E students of 2019 – 2023 batch. The Contest was organized by the faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department. The main objective of the contest is to enrich the young minds in the EG course and to evolve from the basic concepts taught in the regular classes. Topics focused for the contests are; Projection of Points, Projection of Lines, Projection of Planes, Projection of Solids, Section of Solids and Development of Lateral Surface. The contest comprised three rounds; Primary round (MCQ Quiz) was conducted in Computer Centre 2 (CC2) on 17.10.2019. The Registered 57 teams from all the departments of First year students actively participated and a total of 12 teams were shortlisted based on the score obtained in the prelims, which consist of 30 multiple choice questions.
The Qualified teams participated in the second round (EG Marathon) in which participants drafted answers for the technical questions on Projection of Lines, Planes and Solids. The selected 12 teams dynamically participated and solved the given questions at the drawing hall. The teams were evaluated on the basis of correctness of the answers for the question, neatness of printing, proper pencil usage, proper dimensioning and lettering.
All the 12 teams undergone the final round (Make your Model) in which, participants have to make the model by drafting the given question in the section & development of lateral surfaces topic and cut the paper as per the drawing, a model is made by gluing the lateral surface. The teams were evaluated with correctness of the question, formation of model, accurate & precision of model and presentation.
Based on the performance in the second and third round, one winning team and two runner-up teams were selected and honored with the certificates. The best performing teams in the second and third round were honored with two awards, Best draughtsman award for the EG Marathon round and Best craftsman award for the Make your Model round. Participation certificates were issued to the remaining teams.
