An awareness webinar on Mental Health and Well-being
Mental health is a positive concept related to the social and emotional well-being of individuals and communities. Having good mental health, or being mentally healthy, is more than just the absence of illness; rather it’s a state of overall well-being.
State of well-being in which an individual
• realizes his or her own abilities,
• can cope with normal stress of life,
• can work productively and
• is able to make a contribution to his or her community
During the COVID-19 lockdown, many of us are staying at home and doing less in terms of social interactions and exercise. This can have a negative effect on your physical and mental health. In this regard, the NSS and YRC unit of Jansons Institute of Technology Organised an awareness webinar on “Mental Health and Well-being” for our JIT students through online mode. Dr. P. Priyatharshini, Dental Surgeon at Tamilnadu Government Dental College and Hospital, was a resource person and she discussed mental stability, how to care for the health, and how to utilize the free time of students in an effective way. Most of our college students participated and benefitted.
