Event Summary

The Institution innovation council of Jansons Institute of Technology organised an awareness program on “Intellectual Property Rights, Patents and Design filing” in association with  Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management under NIPAM scheme, Intellectual property of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry Government of India.  The programme was organised on 27.4.2022 and the speaker was Dr. Bharat N. Suryawanshi,  Assistant Controller of Patents, Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, RGNIIPM, Nagpur.

 The program started with a welcome address by Dr.M.Matheswaran, IIC President followed by the introduction of the speaker. The speaker explained about the types of Intellectual property with examples. He narrated the importance of protecting intellectual property and how it impacts the economical growth of the concern. He described about the registration process of IP in India and world wide and also listed the tenure of protection of each IP. The session was held interactive by the speaker by questioning the audience. He finally presented the mission of the country to protect the IP in india. Following the session, the speaker answered the questions by the audience. The session ended with a thank you note by Dr.M.Matheswaran.

Event Outcome

The webinar created an awareness on the importance of Intellectual Property and its protection, different types of IP and IP filing procedure.
