Biodiversity Survey Camp
Our student volunteers who look at the variation of life in a Jansons Institute of Technology campus which include academic and hostel blocks. When volunteers assess an area’s biodiversity, they look at species richness (how many different species there are) and relative abundance (the number of organisms each species has). In this Phase I survey, our volunteer’s team gives importance for the vegetation present in the campus. By using leaf snap application, they tried to identify the species name and its family name. 18 volunteers involved in this biodiversity survey. More than 2000 tree and plant species are identified inside the campus region.
