One day workshop on “Non Destructive Testing”

The Department of Civil Engineering in association with ICI-JIT Students Chapter organized one day workshop on Non destructive testing by Mr.S.Praveen kumar, AP/Civil, JIT on 10.02.2018.The students of final year civil engineering of around 95 has participated in the workshop. The main aim of the workshop is to impart knowledge on NDT analysis techniques which are used in science and technology industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage.

He also explained about the six most frequently used NDT methods are eddy-current, magnetic particle,liquid penetrant, radio graphic, ultrasonic, and visual testing were explained to the students. The application of non destructive testing such as assessment of existing structure for rehabilitation planning, detection of cracks, voids and imperfections can be detected. To monitor changes in the concrete with time intervals. The session was very much helpful to the students for doing their project and research works.
