IEEE International Conference on Advances in Electrical Technology for Green Energy
The recent developments in the area of Electrical Technology have led to exponential growth in different sectors including renewable energy, transportation and industrial automation. The energy efficient green technologies are to be explored for improved deliverables in various sectors with cost effective solutions. This conference was aimed to bring together innovative academicians, researchers and industrial experts in the field of Electrical and Electronics engineering to a common forum, for a constructive exploration on emerging concepts in electrical technology for greener solutions.
The IEEE International Conference ICAETGT-17 was conducted on 23rd September 2017. About 29 participants (Authors and Co-authors) gave willingness to attend the conference in person and 5 authors from distant places in North India opted for virtual presentation.
Inaugural function:
The registration started by 8.45 am and 29 registrations were received. The inaugural function commenced by 9.30 am. Dr. Sanjeevikumar Padmanaban, Associate Professor of Department of EEE, University of Johannesburg, South Africa was the Chief Guest for the inauguration of the Conference and the keynote speaker. The delegates were welcomed by Mr. Henry Clinton, Chair, IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group. The details of the conference were shared by Dr.T. Meenakshi, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, Jansons Institute of Technology. The Chief Guest was introduced to the gathering by Mr. Surya Prakash, student- IV EEE followed by the Inaugural address by the chief guest. The Inaugural speech highlighted the research opportunities in the European countries and Indo-Euro tie-up for research. The expectation of high impact factor journals was also discussed. The conference proceeding was released by the chief guest. The gathering was thanked by Ms.S. Akila of IV EEE.
Keynote Address:
The chief guest delivered the keynote address on “Grid tied Multilevel Inverters”. The speech covered the significance of homopolar currents in electrical machines and its impact on the performance of the machine. Research aspect to reduce the homopolar currents with multilevel inverter was introduced and a detailed study on the simulation and hardware results was presented.
Conference Sessions:
The conference presentation was scheduled in two different tracks. The session chairs were Dr.K. Baskaran, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, Government college of Engineering, Coimbatore and Prof.J. Gnanavadivel, Professor, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi. 12 papers were presented in each track. Virtual presentation through skype was arranged for participant in North India. The conference was valedicted with feedback and vote of thanks. After the conference, the Chief Guest and the Session chairs were taken to Centre of Excellence, GCT, Coimbatore by the Conference Chair.
