IEEE DAY CELEBRATION

IEEE Day Celebration for the Academic year 2022 was conducted on 11th October. Mr. Arun M, Chair of Young Professional Affinity group and Execom Member of IEEE Madras Section was the Chief Guest for this event conducted in our college.

The event MOC was done by Balaji. P III Year ECE. The event begun with Welcome Address which was given by Gnana Varshika of III Year ECE. Then the session was handed over to Mr. Arun. He shared the importance of being an IEEE member. He also gave us many insights on the scholarships and he insisted us to register in the application form for availing the prestigious scholarships which is given by IEEE. He also shared his IEEE journey in Panimalar Institute of Technology. He also shared about the successful events conducted every day during pandemic. He inspired the students to actively participate in all events to develop their skills.

Followed by him, Ms. Sri Janani J S of Final year, Spectrum Committee Chair and WIE Secretary shared her IEEE experience. She explained the importance and benefits of being an IEEE member. Also she shared her participation in the event ‘Upsill Madras – Stack your work’ which was about Soft Skill d] Development, Resume building using Canva and the importance of LinkedIn held at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering. She also shared the Spectrum Discussion Committee events conducted every month. In the point of placement she also shared the importance of volunteering which helped her in most of the interviews.

Followed by her Ms. Brindha Prakasha Dharshini of Final year ECE, Chair of Membership Development Committee shared her IEEE experience. She explained in detail about what IEEE is for and what is does. She also shared her experience in ‘Frizbee’ which is a 3 day Entrepreneurship event conducted in MES College of Engineering Kuttipuram, Kerala. She also shared her participation in the workshops conducted in Robotics and Internet of Things. She also shared her experience in ‘AIWLSI’ which is a National IEEE meet up conducted by All India Congress where she learnt about the importance of becoming an Entrepreneur. She also thanked Mr. Hey Ram R S, Chair of JIT IEEE SB for conducting two-day hands- on workshop on Web Designing which helped the students to gain knowledge on Web Applications.

Followed by her, Dr. Elangovan S, Vice Principal and JIT IEEE Counselor shared his experience in IEEE. He thanked Mr. Arun for saying the importance of IEEE Scholarships and he insisted the students to actively participate in all the events so that they can apply for scholarships and get the most benefits out of it.

Finally vote of thanks was given by Mr. Logananth K of III Year ECE. The whole event was a brainstorming session which helped the students to know more about IEEE and they understood the importance of being an IEEEian.

At last we all gathered in reception for group photo session and signature session. The Event coordinators are Mr.P. Balaji, Mr.J. Naresh Prasanna and Mr.K. Loganath.
