Cyber Security & Cyber Safety – Debate
AICTE is informed that the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) will run a Cyber Awareness Campaign titled ‘Stay Safe online campaign’ to raise awareness among various user groups on safe use of social media platforms, informed usage of digital payment and internet during India’s presidency of the G20. In view of the above we are requested to conduct regular workshops on cyber safety through quizzes, group discussion, etc from December, 2022 to November, 2023.
Activity-I(Debate):
The IWCC of JANSONS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY organized a debate on the topic “Pros and Cons of Social Media & Mobile Usage” at the seminar hall between 3pm and 4pm on 26.12.2022. The event began with Tami thaai vazhthu. Opening Note of Event was delivered by Ms.Mahiba V of II ECE. Welcome Address was presented by Ms.Infanta Christina Lourthu Mary.S of II ECE. Ms.Mariya Bertilla Sharon X of II ECE gave an introduction about cyber security and safety. Social media and mobile phones have huge impact on the lives of everyone. They become part and parcel of our day to day life. Besides its benefits, it has some negatives too. To create awareness among students about safe use of social media and mobile platforms, this event is organized. The event began with Tamil Thai Vaaltthu. A debate session was conducted among two groups of students. Both the groups presented their views in a precise manner, pin pointing their side of arguments. The students, who attended the debate, thoroughly enjoyed the session. They had the opportunity to learn how to protect themselves from online predators. The winners were announced at the end of the event.
The event ended with national anthem.
