World HIV/AIDSĀ  Day

The “World HIV/AIDSĀ  Day” event on Dec 2, 2024, from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm, at Seminar Hall of Jansons Institute of Technology, was organized by the Youth Red Cross (YRC) in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and National Service Scheme (NSS). The event commenced with an opening ceremony featuring a welcome address and an introduction to the event by Ms. Nandhana P from II Year ECE, who introduced the significance of World AIDS Day and the goal of the event. She emphasized the importance of educating people to prevent the spread of HIV.Following this, Dr. K. Senthamil Selvan, the NSS Program Officer, delivered an insightful speech on the latest developments in HIV treatment, prevention methods, and the social challenges faced by people living with the virus. His address underscored the crucial role of awareness in reducing stigma and preventing transmission.The event also featured a Student Discussion, where participants shared their thoughts on HIV prevention and ways to support affected individuals. Finally the event concluded with a closing ceremony and vote of thanks by Mr.S.Mohana Krishnan from II Year ECE ,acknowledging the efforts of all involved in making the event a success.
