Human Rights – Basic Understanding – Awareness Campaign

The National Service Scheme organized a “Human Rights – Basic Understanding – Awareness Campaign” on 24.02.2026 at Unjapalayam village to educate the local community about fundamental human rights. The program began with a welcome address delivered by Mathi Sanjey K P, a second-year ECE student, who introduced the purpose of the campaign. This was followed by an informative guest speech by Dr. S. Supriya from the UHV-SIP Cell, IIT, who explained the importance of understanding and protecting human rights in everyday life. After the guest session, NSS volunteers divided into groups and conducted awareness activities across the south, north, east, and west sides of Unjapalayam village. They interacted with residents, shared information, and discussed basic rights and responsibilities. The campaign helped villagers understand their rights and encouraged them to participate actively in building a respectful and fair community. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mohamed Afsar S.
