The JIT Centre for Corporate Relations (CCR), in association with the JIT-IEEE Student Branch and JIT Industry Institute Partnership Cell (JIITPC), successfully organized an Alumni Talk – Career Compass Series on 05 July 2026 through virtual mode. The session was conducted as part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to strengthen alumni engagement and provide career guidance to students.
The keynote speaker for the session was Mr. R. S. Heyram, Backend Developer, Zoho Corporation, an alumnus of the 2021–2025 B.E. Computer Science and Engineering batch of Jansons Institute of Technology. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from final-year students across various departments.
During the interaction, Mr. Heyram shared his inspiring journey from being a student at Jansons Institute of Technology to becoming a Backend Developer at Zoho Corporation. He emphasized the importance of building strong programming fundamentals, problem-solving abilities, continuous learning, and adaptability to meet the evolving demands of the software industry.
The speaker provided valuable insights into the recruitment process at leading product-based companies, highlighting the significance of data structures and algorithms, technical interview preparation, project development, effective resume building, and communication skills. He also discussed practical approaches to preparing for coding assessments and technical interviews, while sharing his personal experiences, challenges, and strategies that contributed to his professional growth.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students actively engaged with the speaker by seeking guidance on career planning, higher studies, skill development, internships, and placement preparation. Mr. Heyram addressed the queries with practical advice and encouraged students to remain consistent in learning and embrace opportunities for continuous improvement.
The virtual alumni talk was highly informative and motivating, offering students valuable industry perspectives and career guidance. The programme further strengthened the connection between the institution and its alumni while inspiring students to prepare confidently for their professional careers.
