A guest lecture on Internet of Things was conducted successfully by the department of computer science and engineering on 09th October 2018(Tuesday) from 01.30 pm to 03.25 pm. Dr.R.Manimegalai, Professor, Department of Information Technology, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore delivered the lecture.

She gave a brief insight onto the various topics of IoT. The lecture covered all major areas of IoT. Broad categories, architecture, components and applications were discussed in detail. Real time scenarios were explained and she briefed about her own projects in IoT with neat diagrams and output. She explained Water management and drone systems in agriculture was discussed in detail which gave a great insight to students about their future projects.

She explained how the global market value of IoT is developing enormously which provides a lot of employment opportunities for the upcoming engineers. She enlightened students by her lecture covering various broad ideas.

She also gave a clear exposure for placements and additional training topics which was a great use for students. She suggested a list of higher education options available at the current scenario which was an eye opener for the students.

UG Students from III and IV CSE and ME CSE students attended the guest lecture. The feedback received was very commendable in all aspects.
