CSIR Sponsored One day National Seminar on  SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT – NEED OF THE HOUR (NSSD~ 2022)  was conducted to  Identify an alternate solution for current issues,  to create knowledge about clean development mechanism and to educate the various UN-SDG goals among young minds on 03.06.2022 Friday at Seminar Hall  in Jansons Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.Seminar began at 10.00 am with a prayer song .Welcome address was given by Dr. D. Geethalakshmi, Prof and Head, Department of Physics. She welcomed the gathering. Nearly 70 participants both from outside and inside of Jansons Institute of Technology participated in Seminar.

                Presidential address was given by Dr. M. V. Suresh kumar, Director – Administration. All the resource persons were honored with Momento by Vice principal and various heads of the departments.

                First session began at 10.15 am followed by profile reading of the resource person, Dr. M. Dwarakanath, Expert Member, TFACR&D Committee, MOEF&CC, GOI, Former Director, DSTE cum Member Secy, PPCC, Government of Puducherry / Government of Delhi.He addressed the gathering on the title “SDG goals and what can be done to achieve the SDG by individuals & institutions”. He insisted the role of individual as well as institution to achieve  sustainable development goals. After his speech, participants departed for Tea break by 11.30 am.

                Second session began at 11.45 am. Followed by profile reading, Dr. A. Manisekar, Scientist, Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board, Coimbatore gave his speech on the title” Clean Development Mechanism– Air Pollution control measures – An overview”. He enlightened the gathering regarding PM10 and PM25 and informed the gathering about the alarming problems of Air pollution Then the participants went for lunch break at 1:15 pm.

                Third session began at 2:15  pm. After profile reading, the speaker Dr. G.Hiran Kumar, Professor /Physics, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Mylapore, Chennai  addressed in the title “Renewable Energy for Future India”. He enlightened the participants regarding the available renewable energy resources and necessity for finding out alternate energy resources. Students conveyed their feedback regarding the sessions and Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. G. Bhavani, Prof. /Physics.At last the programme concluded with National Anthem.of
