Inauguration of Standards club at Jansons

          Jansons Institute of Technology (JIT) express interest to get associated with the Bureau of Indian Standards towards the quality consciousness and practices in this speeded economic advancement.

          JIT is glad in joining hands with BIS in the creation of the “Standards Club” to create awareness on Indian Standards and standard practices about engineering, code of practices, and related subjects to the students and faculty on.  The club was inaugurated in presence of Vice-Principal, Director and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department of Jansons Institute of Technology.

          Mr. A. Rajeev, Standards Promotion officer and Mr. K. Kavin, Scientist-B has graced the function with their presentation for the Club Inauguration. Dr. N. Srinivasan, mentor, Standards Club welcomed the gathering. The speaker shared the basic concepts in standards, the need, and importance of standards towards engineering product were expresses to the students with real-life examples. After the presentation, a Quiz competition was conducted by BIS to all the participants. Basic questions related to standards were asked and based on the score, best performers were selected and a cash prize of Rs.3000 was awarded to 6 best performed students.  

          The motto of the standards club is to emphasis the quality in every aspect such as product development, process development and, in technology development and technology transfer.
