Industrial Visit

           An Industrial Visit is planned in the Deccan Pumps, Coimbatore for the First year Mechanical and Civil Engineering Students of Jansons Institute of Technology on 25.02.2022 at 02.00 PM. Vel pump sets was established in the year 1981 at Coimbatore, South India and it is the sister concern of Deccan Pumps, Coimbatore. The company is a pioneer in the field of submersible pumpsets. They manufacture Borewell Submersible Pumpsets of different diameters, Closed Couple Submersible Pumpsets, Horizontal Splitcase Pumpsets, Vertical Turbine Pumpsets, Deccan Submersible Motors and Stainless-Steel Submersible Pumps.

          The Industrial visit stared with the company introduction, and various units in the company. The students gained knowledge in the different stages in pump manufacturing and assembly. They provide a live demo in the production of pump parts and the assembly of the parts as per the customer’s requirement. The further explained about how the testing will be made to predict the performance of the pumps. In the manufacturing unit of the company, the different manufacturing processes (casting, machining) to produce parts of the pumps were elaborated to the participants. All the participants were provided with a Participation Certificate. Students felt the visit was wonderful and gained a lot of technical knowledge in the field of pump manufacturing.
