Awareness session on “Ten Reasons to be a part of IEEE”
Jansons Institute of Technology IEEE Student Branch organized a session titled “10 REASONS TO BE A PART OF IEEE " for all second-year students. The session began at 9:15 a.m. at Sivaganga Auditorium and lasted until 10:00 AM. Our SB Chairman, Mr. Heyram, welcomed the speaker, Mr.Ashvanth Babu, who is the Treasurer of IEEE Madras Young Professionals, following that our SB WIE chairperson, Ms.Shruthi, provided a brief introduction of the speaker.
Mr.Ashvanth started the session by outlining what IEEE is and how we can use it to enhance our careers. He enumerated the IEEE awards provided to student members, emphasizing that more than ten members from our Madras section received the Richard Merwin Scholarship this year. He taught the students how to access technical content on the IEEE website and how they can develop their skills by volunteering at various IEEE events, as well as the awards that the IEEE confers for outstanding performance. He also listed some of the global level platforms like IEEE XTREME, YESIST12, HighPreneur, and IEEE MadC in which IEEE members can showcase their skills and gain worldwide recognition.
He advised the students that they should stand out from the crowd by improving their skills in various domains like graphic design, content writing, website designing, digital marketing, etc. He kept the entire class interesting, and the students learned a lot about the IEEE and its benefits as a result. He showed images of several IEEE activities held in the Madras section, as well as explained the IEEE Collabratec website and how a newly joined member can volunteer for IEEE events held throughout the world, and he addressed all of the second-year students’ questions.
Our SB secretary Mr.Rohithkumar delivered the vote of thanks and our SB counselor and finally the session ended up with the national anthem.
