A Motivational Talk on “How to Innovate the Expedition Way!” organized on 22.09.2022 by the Industrial IoT club in association with JIT-IIC. Prof.N.Krishnapriya, AP/ECE, Innovation Ambassador, clearly stated the importance of FORTH innovation method which is an effective and structured method for ideating innovative products and services. The innovation method for the ideation phase is called FORTH – an acronym found in the first letter of each of the 5 steps: Full Steam Ahead, Observe & Learn, Raise Ideas, Test Ideas and Homecoming. FORTH was developed in practice and is used successfully in both B2B and B2C markets and by non-profit organizations. The program was an initiative towards imparting knowledge regarding the FORTH Innovation Methodology which paves a way to think about the path along which ideas travel, from discovery, to business case concept, to finally emerging as winning ideas in the marketplace.

The Innovation Ambassador briefed about the five steps involved in the expedition journey through which Innovation becomes essential in product development, services, customer requirements and day-to-day process. She also gave the use cases with FORTH method applicable for various domains. Students and Faculty members took part in the event which was enriching and highly insightful. The session ended with the interaction of the students with the resource person.

The Innovation Expedition will provide a structured pathway for innovation, which produces far better results according to validation and independent research of the process. Faculties and students will be able to build their knowledge and exposure to develop different innovation sprints.
