Orientation Session on “Design Thinking – Double Diamond Approach”

An orientation Session on “Design Thinking – Double Diamond Approach” was conducted by the Indian Institute of Production Engineers (IIPE), Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jansons Institute of Technology in association with JIT-IIC on 04.11.2022 for the Students of Mechanical Engineering department. A total of 51 participants (45 Students and 06 faculties) actively involved in the session. The Session was started with welcome address, delivered by Mr. Subash Chandra Bose K, II Mech.  Problem Statements are taken from Techgium (L&T Technology Service) website. The faculties of the Mechanical Engineering department shared the problems from the domain of Digital Manufacturing, Sustainability and Social General Issues. After the explanation of the Problem statement, discussion session was carried out.  Participants shared their views and ideas about the problem statement. After the session, Design Thinking orientation session was carried out. The Double Diamond Approach was discussed among the participants and they applied the approach on the problem statement selected by them. The ideas were listed and it’s taken for further process. The session was ended with a vote of thanks. Participants shared their feedback about the session which was good and informative.
