Accelerators / Incubation – opportunities for students and faculties, Early stage Entrepreneurs
The JIT ISTE Student Chapter, in association with the JIT-IIC and NDLI clubs, organized a workshop on ” Accelerators / Incubation – opportunities for students and faculties, Early stage Entrepreneurs” on 09.08.2024 for the Faculties and students. On August 9, 2024, the workshop started at 9:30 a.m.
Ms. L. Agnes Preethi, Convener of JIT-IIC, has provided insights into the various stages of transforming a concept into a viable innovation. She also explained about the critical aspects of pre-incubation and incubation processes, equipping them with the knowledge required to turn ideas into successful startups. After that, Mr. Muthu Singaram, CEO, has explained how Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) can effectively support the innovation and entrepreneurial journeys of their students and faculty members.
The afternoon session started at 2:00 p.m. with a welcome address by Ms. Charmi Shreya of final-year ECE department, followed by the speaker, Ms.Siva Raghavi, Startup Enabler who discussed the benefits of accelerator and incubation programs, highlighting how these platforms can provide crucial support in the form of mentorship, funding, resources, and networking. The sessions were designed to encourage students, faculty, and budding entrepreneurs to leverage these opportunities to accelerate the growth of their startups. She also presented on the specific benefits that early-stage entrepreneurs can gain from accelerators and incubators, such as mentorship, seed funding, and market access. The workshop concluded with an open Q&A session, where participants engaged with the speakers to clarify their doubts and seek advice on specific challenges they were facing. In total, 63 students and faculty members participated in this event.
