Technical Talk on “Insight into the Semiconductor Manufacturing”
Semiconductor devices are built up in a series of nanofabrication processes performed on the surface of substrates (wafers) made from highly pure single crystal silicon. To provide the different application of manufacturing and its process, a Technical Talk on “Insight into the Semiconductor Manufacturing” was conducted for the students of Mechanical Engineering, Jansons Institute of Technology on 10.03.2023. Mr. Arjun Saravanabhavan Alumni (2015 Batch), Presently working as a Process Engineer at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Texas, United States was acted as a resource person for the session and the event was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering. The session was started with a welcome address delivered by Mr.P.Vignesh of Second year Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Dandu Ismail of Second year Mechanical Engineering unveiled the guest profile to the participants. The Session was felicitated by the resource person and his presentation was focused on Semiconductor Manufacturing. How chips are made that power the laptop and cell phones, Real-time Applications, Manufacturing process were elaborated clearly. Further, he explained about Overview and Roadmap of chips with the wafers structure, Flow and Applications of chips and fabs facilities in Abroad and India. Participants clarified their doubts related to the topic and shared their feedback about the session, which was interesting and ignited the technical knowledge of manufacturing towards the global perspective.
