“Beat the Heat: Staying safe and Healthy in the summer sun”
The “Beat the Heat” event on May 7, 2024, from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm, at the Seminar Hall of Jansons Institute of Technology, was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) in collaboration with NDLI Club and first-year students. The event commenced with an opening ceremony featuring a welcome address and an introduction to the event. Following the opening ceremony, MS. Rachana Sri I ECE delivered a speech in English on the topic of climate change. Afterward, MS. Dharshika I AIDS presented a video providing an overview of climate change. Subsequently, students MR. Hariharan I CSBS and MS. Thaenmozhi I CSE presented a PowerPoint about precautions that should be taken during summer heat. Then, student MR. Rajkumar I CSE explained the topic of foods and dress codes for the summer season. The event was highlighted by a video presentation by MR. Balaji I AIDS, who shared doctor’s tips for coping with the summer season. The event concluded with a feedback session and closing remarks. Overall, the event provided valuable information and guidance to help students stay safe and healthy during the summer months, emphasizing the importance of awareness and preparedness in dealing with rising temperatures and climate challenges.
