CITIZEN CONSUMER CLUB – AWARENESS PROGRAM ON CONSUMER RIGHTS AND SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Awareness program on Consumer rights and solid waste management along with MoU signing with NGO Citizens’ voice Coimbatore was planned and conducted for all students of JIT on 17.11.2022 between 3 to 4 pm.

• The resource person Thiru. C.M Jayaraman, Founder and president, Citizens’ voice Coimbatore, Coimbatore Consumer centre. He addressed the students about the topics, who is consumer? How to claim their rights and procedure to be followed with live examples. He highlighted the point, that if any consumer is affected by online commerce also, it can be claimed. He interacted with the students and elucidates their doubts regarding the procedure to be followed to file the case and he also informed that within 90 days the case will be given judgement.
• Thiru. P. Subramaniyan, Former General manager, GORICA Vehicles and Co.LLC, Oman. He instructed the students about accumulation of solid wastes in India. He insisted the students about the problems which will be faced by future generation because of solid wastes. Signing of MoU is done on stage. Finally, the programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr.G. Bhavani, JIT- Citizen Consumer club Cordinator, Professor in Physics. Feedback from the students is collected through feedback link. More than 280 students were participated in the event.
