World water day
The “World Water Day” event was held on March 22, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Seminar Hall of Jansons Institute of Technology. Organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) in association with the Sustainability Cell, the event aimed to raise awareness about water conservation and sustainable water management. It was hosted by Harshini from the first year CSE, the event began with a warm welcome address, setting the stage for an informative session ahead. English and Tamil speeches highlighted the importance of water conservation and the current water issues facing communities globally and locally.
A PowerPoint presentation further elucidated the significance of responsible water usage and practical solutions to address water scarcity. A video presentation provided visual insights into water-related challenges and initiatives around the world. Dr. K. Senthamil Selvan, the NSS Programme Officer, delivered an insightful speech, emphasizing the urgency of taking collective action to preserve and manage water resources effectively. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their contributions and commitment to the cause of water conservation. Overall, the event successfully achieved its objective of raising awareness about World Water Day and inspiring proactive measures towards sustainable water practices.
