Field visit to “Technology Business Incubator & seminar on Innovation and Entrepreneurship”
Event Objective

To introduce the facilities and schemes that are available for students from  technology business incubator.

Event Summary

The Institution Innovation Council of Jansons Institute of Technology arranged a visit to Technology Business Incubator, Kongu Engineering college, Perundurai. The visit was arranged on 16.3.2022 to the students of ECE, EEE and Mechanical. The students were accompanied by Dr.M.Matheswaran and Dr.N.Srinivasan. About 25 students visited the TBI. Dr. R.Parameshwaran, Chief Co-ordinator of TBI ,Kongu Engineering college welcomed the team and explained about the facilities of the TBI. He delivered a seminar to the students on Innovation, Invention and how Innovation is converted to a business. He also explained about the procedure followed in the TBI for idea processing, pitching the idea, fund raising for the incubators. The various facilities of the TBI were showcased to the students that include 3D printing, FAB lab, Digital scanner and the PCB printing machine. The cubicals for the startups and the facilities provided were also explained. Finally the students visited the different startups in the cubicals. The visit came to its close by 2.00pm with Dr.M.Matheswaran expressing his gratitude for facilitating the visit. 

Event Outcomes

On completion of the visit, the students were able to gain knowledge on the role of Technology business incubators and the facilities rendered by it. They were able to understand the pre-incubation and the incubation services during project design and testing, business model development and the fund raising for the start-ups.
