The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Two Days Faculty Development Program on “Cloud Computing Essentials – I” on 23.05.2019 & 24.05.2019. The session was conducted in Computer Centre 1.
The program commenced with the introduction to the Cloud Computing and its services models which boosted the power of internet more than ever. The session continued with the importance of cloud computing and how it reduces Initial Investment, Capital Expenditure, and Local Computing Power compared with the traditional computing systems. Various scenarios were discussed on Service Level Agreement that is signed between cloud provider and customer to ensure the service availability and guarantee.
The participants got benefited from the Hands-on training on development of new web service using netbeans 8.2, installation of virtualbox with different flavours of linux or windows OS on top of windows7 and installation of C compiler in the virtual machine using virtual box.
The session also incorporated with discussion on various other technologies that are evolved from Cloud Computing such as Mobile Cloud Computing, Fog Computing, Green Computing and Sensor Cloud Computing. The program ended with the brief insight on Hadoop concepts and installation of Hadoop single node cluster.
Participants were briefed about,- Netbeans 8.2

- Fog Computing, Green Computing, Sensor Cloud Computing
The Faculty Development Program was well attended by over 18 faculty members. The feedback received was very commendable in all aspects.
