Thinkathon – An Idea Exploration for Mechanical Engineers

To explore ideas among the students, JIT-IIC organized a workshop on “Thinkathon” for the students and faculty members within the Institution on 20.11.2021. The session started with the welcome address and opening remarks by Dr. N. Srinivasan, Associate Professor of Mechanical engineering. He spokes about theme of JIT-IIC towards ideation, innovation and incubation. Dr. M.M. Matheswaran, IIC-Coordinator of JIT proceeds discussion. The session was handled by 5 batches of final year mechanical students, presenting their ideas.

Every batch comprises of 4 – 5 students presents the innovating ideas ( for the identified problem. The problem has been identified via industry visit, through industry officials, design problem from professors etc. The different in opinion for the presented ideas from audience was discussed and noted as input for solving the same. Head of the department and IIC coordinator has motivated the students to carry the ideas for finding the solutions and even for prototype too.
