JIT IIC along with EDC organised a Workshop on Entrepreneurship Skill Development on 25.05.2024 (Saturday) especially for the benefit of the students of JIT. A total of 53 active students who were interested in entrepreneurship participated in the workshop.

            The workshop started with a prayer song at 9:00 am followed by a welcome address from Ms.R.Someshwari of II year ECE Dept., The first session was Introduction to Employability Skills by Dr.S.Elangovan, Vice Principal, Head of Placement & Training, JIT. The students were highlighted with the skills needed for an entrepreneur, transferable skills, and key personal attributes which are highly valued by employers and essential for effective performance in the workplace.

The second session Work Effectively with Team & Work Ethics by Dr.J.J Savithri, Professor, Jansons School of Business started by 11:00 am. The guest speaker highlighted the Importance of working as a team in Entrepreneurship, work ethics to be followed, strategies to maintain a good team with ethical values, etc.

The third session started at 2:30 pm after lunch, Health and Safety at Workplace by Dr.M.M, Muthukumaran, Professor and Head, Mechanical Engg, JIT. He enlightened the students about the need for the health and safety of entrepreneurs and their employees. The need to maintain healthy food habits, a neat and safe environment, and good mental and physical health.

The final session was by Dr. S.R. Parameswaran, Asst. Professor and Head, English Dept., JIT at 03:00 pm. He educated the students about the importance of communication skills for an entrepreneur importance of Soft Skills & Communication. As an entrepreneur, one should have the skills to pitch their product or business with confidence to others which will improve their sales in return develop their business and relationship with others.

The workshop ended with feedback and a vote of thanks from Tharshini K of the II year AI&DS department.
